Child care is provided before and after-school by Footsteps Child Care Inc., a private non-profit agency, on the Nesbit Campus. Before school, children are dropped off at the Footstep classrooms. At the Morning Bell, Footstep staff walk the children to Morning Gathering. At dismissal, children are picked up at either their classrooms or a central meeting place and taken to the Footstep classrooms.

Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP)
All California school districts must provide an Expanded Learning Opportunities Program to eligible students (English learners, foster/homeless youth, and students who qualify for free/reduced lunch in grades TK-6). Students will be invited to register for their on-site program (hosted by after care providers). Students who qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch and foster youth will be able to participate free of charge in an after school program from dismissal until 5:30pm, every day school is in session. English learners will be invited to attend but will be responsible for tuition. Previously eligible students have already been invited via email, and registration information has been provided. Newly enrolled students will be invited once eligibility has been confirmed. If you believe you may qualify for the Federal Free/Reduced Lunch Program, please submit an application with your Student Information Update. For additional questions, please contact Assistant Superintendent Ching-Pei Hu at edservices@brssd.org .
