Mrs. Spicker began her career as an elementary school teacher in the San Mateo-Foster City School District. Working with students in the primary grades, she developed a love for teaching reading and writing. As a teacher, Mrs. Spicker found great joy in guiding students as they unlocked the code of reading and told their own stories in their written work.  Mrs. Spicker continues to enjoy fostering an environment where the love of learning is valued and celebrated among students and adults.

Mrs. Spicker is a Bay Area native. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Sacramento State,  Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential from Notre Dame de Namur University and her Administrative Service Credential from California State University, East Bay.

On a personal note, Mrs. Spicker and her husband Jeff have two children.  Samantha is a students at the University of Oregon studying elementary education (yes, following in mom's footsteps) and Ryan is a senior in high school.  In her free time, Mrs. Spicker enjoys attending musical theater productions, going to sporting events (mostly baseball - Go Giants!) and spending time with family and friends.
