School Site Council
Roles and Responsibilities
The purpose of the School Site Council (SSC) is to work with the school principal to develop, review and evaluate the school’s plan for assuring and improving academic achievement of all children – especially children of socioeconomically disadvantaged families and english language learners. The SSC, an elected body of representatives, reviews the principal’s plan for assuring achievement (called the Single Plan for Student Achievement or SPSA) as well as gives their vote of confidence on the principal’s Title I budget. SSC is to be comprised of teachers, parents, principal and staff. Every year, members are voted into a two year term.
