School Site Council

The School Site Council (SSC) exists so that individuals most affected by the operation of the school have a role in how their school functions.  Comprised of five staff members and five parent/community members, the SSC concentrates on improving the academic environment at Nesbit.  The SSC is responsible for approving the school improvement plan, overseeing the budget, which reflects and supports  the site plan, monthly reviews of how the goals are implemented, and the assessment of the effectiveness of the plan.  Nominations and volunteers for participation on the SSC are accepted in the spring.  Members serve a two year term.  Meetings are open to anyone interested in attending.  For more information, contact the school. Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA):

Each year Nesbit’s School Site Council develops a strategic plan to address the needs of all students. After careful analysis of STAR test results and district assessments, the leadership team writes an action plan for intervention in reading, math and writing as well as addressing staff development needs to improve instruction. The plan helps us focus on the goals for the year and  includes support for English Language Learners, extended learning for our special needs population and differentiated instruction for students of all ability levels. Categorical funding allows the school to develop programs to enhance the school culture and build relationships with the community.
