Nesbit Elementary School Library

When I discovered libraries, it was like having Christmas every day.

November 2011

Halloween is happening in the Nesbit Library! Pumpkins, witches and black cats everywhere! The students were given their Trick or Treats early from Mrs. Branscum…Halloween bookmarks…and they promised to say THANK YOU when trick or treating on October 31! The Halloween and autumn books are being checked out as well as non-fiction books on bats, skeletons and spiders!

All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes have finished their lesson on how to use the Catalog Computers so now they will be more independent in the library. It’s a similar system at the public libraries so they can also find books on their own there. We’ll keep practicing to get more familiar with using the computers.

My next week here at Nesbit will be November 7-11. We’ll be reading books about voting and elections. We’ll also talk more about non-fiction books and the Dewey Decimal System.

Happy Halloween and Keep Reading!

CHILDREN’S BOOK DRIVE!

Please recycle your new or used children’s books into young people’s lives.  Nesbit Library is collecting books for the Children’s Book Project in S.F. which donates them to children in homeless shelters, children’s centers and certain needy public schools. We will collect books during the week of Nov. 7-11, for one week only. Please bring the books to the library. If you have any questions please email Mrs. Branscum at pbranscum@brssd.org. Thank you.

See you in the library!

Mrs. Branscum
