2010 Kindergarten Orientations & Registration
If you have a child preparing for kindergarten in the fall of 2010, our kindergarten visitations are coming up. They are scheduled for:

  • Wednesday January 13, 2010 at 9:00 am
  • Wednesday February 10, 2010 at 9:00 am

Join Mrs. Kelley, school staff and parent volunteers for an information session and tour of the school.

Registration starts:

  • February 22nd to 26th, 2010 - Early sibling registration
  • March 1st, 2010 - Open Registration

All you need to know before your child starts at Nesbit Elementary School:

Nesbit Elementary School welcomes you to our community. We hope to make the registration process as easy as possible for both students and parents, and are available to answer all of your questions. To find out more about our school registration deadlines, please contact us.

Parents who do not know their school attendance zone should visit the Belmont-Redwood Shores Elementary School District website or call 650-637-4800.


Registration Procedure

Parents & guardians can download a Registration Packet from here or pick up one at the school. For more information, please call 650-637-4860 or visit our front office during school hours.

Please take the time to review your completed registration packet with our office staff and bring original documents for photocopying.

Kindergarten registration is due early so the school can plan effectively for the upcoming school year. Parents are encouraged to submit their registration forms as soon as possible to avoid delays. Keep in mind that school offices will be closed or open on a very limited basis for the summer.

PLEASE BRING ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS (NOT PHOTOCOPIES) IN PERSON.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION SHOULD NOT BE FAXED OR MAILED.

Completed registration forms (obtain a blank registration form from the school office). Use the checklist below or download the checklist in PDF format, for a list of documents that you need to bring with you to complete registration.

  1. Driver's License and personal check for identification
  2. Birth certificate or passport
  3. Proof of Residence Documents:
    • Current original utility bills from two different sources (installation papers or bills are acceptable)
    • and one of the following:
      • Residents who are home owners: Sales contract/Grant Deed/current property tax bill
      • Residents who are renters: Signed Rental agreement
      • Other living arrangements:
        • Deed, property tax bill or rental agreement of person with whom you are living
          and
        • Notarized Verification of Residency Form
  4. Student Registration Form (get from school office)
  5. Physical (mandatory within last 18 months prior to entering 1st grade)
  6. Immunization Record (polio, diphtheria, chicken pox, measles, mumps and rubella, and Hepatitis B required; TB is optional). Some admissions may be conditional.
    Note: if you do not bring an immunization record, you must go to the school to obtain the County Medical Examination form and Immunization flier.

During the summer months, completed registration materials may be brought to the Belmont-Redwood Shores District Office, 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. on regular business days.
